Email Detection
StackTidy's core feature: automatically catching subscriptions from your email.
How Detection Works
- You connect your email (forwarding or Outlook)
- Our AI scans for subscription-related emails:
- Payment confirmations and receipts - Invoice emails - Subscription welcome messages - Renewal notices - Trial conversion emails
- AI extracts: vendor name, cost, billing cycle, renewal date
- Caught subscriptions appear as whispers in Your Brief
- If confidence is high, they're added automatically
- If review is needed, you see "We caught X subscriptions - review needed"
Review Process
When caught subscriptions need review:
- An amber whisper appears in Your Brief on the Home tab
- Tap it to open the review sheet
- Each item shows: app name, detected cost, billing cycle
- Quick actions: approve (checkmark) or skip (X)
- For detailed editing, tap "Open full import page"
Continuous Scanning
Detection isn't a one-time event. Once connected:
- Email forwarding: Processed in real-time as emails arrive
- Outlook connection: Scanned periodically (weekly by default)
- Manual scan: Tap "Scan Now" in the Import section to trigger immediately
Privacy
- Only subscription-pattern emails are processed
- Email content is read by AI, then discarded - we store only extracted subscription data
- Connection is read-only
- Disconnect at any time
